Continuing with my slime making obsession, I wanted to try to make the clearest slime I could. You of course need to use clear glue to make it, which can be more difficult to work with. But this method makes this clear slime fool proof!
I’ve also created a handy set of slime recipe cards to print and cut out. Download them below or from the shop.

How to Make Clear Slime
Make the Clear Slime Base
Pour some clear glue into a bowl. I used about half of a cup.
Mix in the same amount of water (so for myself it was about half of a cup).
The reason you want to add water is the clear PVA glue reacts more strongly with the slime activator. Therefore it can get hard more quickly. Adding the water makes sure it won’t get hard.
Activate the Clear Slime
Mix in the slime activator a little bit at a time until it starts to form clumps. I recommend using only ~ 1 teaspoon at a time.
(You can make your own slime activator or use store-bought. You’ll want to mix a cup of warm water with 1 teaspoon of borax until it’s dissolved. This will be used for multiple slimes).
At this point I recommend mixing it by hand instead of stirring it. It will be a sticky mess, but eventually you’ll get a nice stretchy slime.
As you can see though, it’s not exactly clear.
Tip: If it’s too sticky, add in a little more activator.
You can stretch it thin and it will get clear. This happens because all of the air bubbles that got into it while stirring get pulled apart and pop.
The next step to make perfectly crystal clear slime is to either put it in a vacuum chamber (such as this one) or let it set over night. Since I don’t have a vacuum chamber (yet), I put it in an airtight container (this is the one I use since it’s a perfect size). This prevents it from drying out.
Then the next day when you take it out all the bubbles will have popped and you have beautifully see through clear slime.

I just loved playing with this slime and having it drizzle.
Keep in mind as you play with it and fold it over itself, it will capture air bubbles and not be as perfectly clear. But as long as you set it to rest (or put it in a vacuum chamber), the air bubbles will leave again.

How to Make Clear Slime in Different Colors
Something extra you can do is add dye to your slime. I ended up making it purple with a couple drops of red and blue food coloring (such as these). As you stretch it still looks perfectly clear, but when it’s all together it’s more pigmented.
It’s a different take on clear slime!
