This fluffy slime recipe makes the puffiest, fluffiest, most pillowy slime and it only takes 2 minutes!
Table of Contents
This such a fun slime recipe to make! It’s puffy and it can somewhat hold its shape, instead of oozing and being sticky like classic slime. And while it’s soft to the touch, it’s more like a smooth, matte finish, so it’s not quite as soft as cloud slime or snow slime, but it’s even puffier than butter slime. It honestly like a marshmallow you can play with! You can even add a bit of lotion to make it even softer and give it a nice scent!

How to Make Fluffy Slime
Make the Base for the Fluffy Slime
Pour the glue into a bowl. I ended up using about a quarter cup.
Note: The volume comes from the shaving cream so even though it might not look like much now, it will get much bigger!
Add your food coloring. Since I wanted to make purple slime, I started with red food coloring (a basic set like this one works great!).
Note: The reason I like to add the food coloring now instead of at the end is because you’ll be able to more clearly see how the color will turn out. Adding shaving cream will make it more pale so you want to test how it will look from the beginning.
Add in roughly a 1/4 – 1/2 cup of shaving cream and mix it in (this is the kind I used).
This will help you start to get a sense of the color and also make it easier to add shaving cream later. In theory you could make a basic slime first, but it will be more difficult to mix in the shaving cream.
Continue to add food coloring until you get a slightly darker version of the color you’d like. Remember, the color will become more pale after adding more shaving cream.
In my case, I added blue so I would end up with purple.

Activate the Fluffy Slime
You can either make your own slime activator or use store-bought. You’ll want to mix a cup of warm water with 1 teaspoon of borax until it’s dissolved.
Then add it to the glue and shaving cream mixture a little at a time.
Tip: If you’re not sure how much activator to use, add roughly a teaspoon at a time. You can always add more!
Mix it together and continue add activator until it starts to pull away from the edges.
At this point, you can start mixing it by hand. It will be sticky at first, but keep folding it over and stretching it to mix it all together.
Tip: If it’s still too sticky you can add a little bit more slime activator. I actually like to do this by dipping my fingers in the activator and continuing to stretch the slime.
Tip: To get the rest of the slime in the bowl, roll the big piece around it – the pieces stuck to the bowl will now stick to the slime! No slime left behind!
Make the Fluffy Slime Fluffier
Once all the lumps are smoothed out, add more shaving cream a little at a time.
Mix it in by folding the slime over it and stretching.
Continue to add more shaving cream until you get a nice and soft fluffy slime! You can even add a little bit of lotion to make it even softer and give it a scent!

And of course it’s just so satisfying to smoosh your hand into! It’s like falling into a marshmallow!
